Who are we ?

La Vélo Francette, an initiative in 7 Departments and 3 Regions.

Since 2015, a new national route called La Vélo Francette® has been added to the routes in the greater west. Continuous and marked out, it offers a new experience to enjoy, along the water and rivers, the charms of pretty towns and villages and the serenity of the French countryside. A concentrate of sweet France, a resolutely "slow tourism" experience!

Registered in the national scheme of the Véloroutes Voies Vertes, from Ouistreham to La Rochelle, i. e. 608 km, the Vélo Francette (initially V43) crosses Basse-Normandie, Pays de la Loire, and Poitou-Charentes, covers 3 regional natural parks, borders the Mayenne Canal, the Loire and the Thouet, and then crosses the Marais Poitevin and reaches the Atlantic at La Rochelle.

The tourist potential of the route is well known: the sites crossed, the interconnections with major routes such as EuroVelo 4, Veloscénie, Loire by bike and Vélodyssée, the connection with England with the ferry link in Ouistreham are all assets.
